Conan is probably the most famous Barbarian in fiction. Born on the battlefield and son of the village blacksmith. Conan matured quickly as a youth and, by the age of fifteen, he was already a respected warrior. A wanderer in his younger years he encountered many adventures.

Using his experience and knowledge in battle to his advantage, he bagan to escalate his ambitions. In his forties, he seized the crown of the tyrannical king of Aquilonia, the most powerful kingdom of the Hyborian Age, having strangled the previous ruler on the steps of the throne.
